Often referred to as the heart of the home, the kitchen is not only where the daily routines of preparing family meals occurs, but is often the place where guests will congregate to socialise as coffee, drinks or dinner parties are prepared. Photographs should show the kitchen as a clean uncluttered space with plenty of storage. Cluttered benchtops suggest there is nowhere to store appliances. Flaunt the flow from the kitchen to living and outdoor areas to entice viewers to visit and experience for themselves just what the property has to offer.
Working surfaces and back splashes should be cleaned, especially the more reflective surfaces. Streaky surfaces do nothing to enhance the appeal of your kitchen. If you have a lovely tiled floor then flaunt it by removing any mats. Removing the mats can also have the effect of making your kitchen look a little larger. Remember also that hiding cups, plates and other items in the sink doesn’t work. The camera will often pick out these items or at least a reflection of them in the sink. Clean up and put things away.
